Position Description:
The Vector-Pathogen-Host Interaction Unit, Laboratory of Bacteriology, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a strong immunology and/or microbiology background to be part of a team working to understand the immunopathogenesis of vector-transmitted diseases. This position is located on NIAID’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories campus in Hamilton, Montana.
Our team is interested in the dynamic arthropod-pathogen-host interaction at the cutaneous interface, focusing on understanding the immune mechanisms of severe disease pathogenesis. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, design, and conduct research experiments; manage research projects; prepare reports and papers for publication, presentation, and future research; learn the complexities of research lab management, participate in various lab management activities, and work collaboratively and collegially as part of the team while developing skills needed as an independent scientist. Postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to develop projects that complement the overall directions of the unit.
